Psychotherapy

During her three years of post-graduate degree training in psychotherapy at the Marital and Family Therapy program of the JGH, Emily trained in an integrated approach to therapy which consists of a combination of theoretical orientations including: systems theory, attachment theory, emotionally-focused therapy (EFT), solution-focused therapy (SFT) and narrative therapy. She also integrates a mindfulness-based approach based on the professional training she did under the direction of Dr. Jon Kabat-Zinn and Dr. Saki Santorelli of the Center for Mindfulness at the University of Massachusetts Medical School. Emily now integrates the work of Internal Family Systems theory as an IFS-informed therapist, with a particular interest in somatic presentations.

The rate for a 50 minute session is $140 for individuals or $160 for couples and families.

Emily is able to provide professional receipts as a psychotherapist or social worker. If you would like to check with your insurance company to verify your coverage, here are the orders that Emily belongs to:

  • Order of Psychologists (as Psychotherapist): permit number 60297-13
  • Order of Social Workers (MOOE10/07/120TS) and as Couple and Family Therapist (MOOE14/05/230TCF)

About Emily Moody

Emily Moody, MSW, MFT, MA is a psychotherapist working with individuals, couples and families to find greater harmony in their lives and build strong bonds in their most important relationships.

Emily has extensive experience in integrating mindfulness and psychotherapy, particularly around issues of anxiety, depression, loss and stress-management.

She is also a Marital and Family therapist (MFT), working with issues of parenting, communication difficulties, rebuilding emotional and physical intimacy, cross-cultural issues, separation/divorce, blended families, the LGBT community and general relationship enhancement.
